Anahat Singh defeated world No.14 Salma Hany 4-11, 11-8, 4-11, 11-2, 11-5 in the Silicon Valley Open quarterfinals at Redwood City, California, in a 42-minute match, advancing to her first PSA Gold-level semifinals. The 18-year-old, who also beat Nour El Sherbini the day before, will next face Malaysian world No.4 Sivasangari Subramaniam.
