India is considering a proposal from the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, led by Nitin Gadkari, to mandate Advanced Emergency Braking Systems (AEBS) in new cars from October 2030, with existing models given until October 2032 to comply. The move is part of a broader push to adopt ADAS technologies that use sensors and controls to prevent collisions.
