Udta Teer, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, released October 23 as Aakash Kaushik’s directorial debut. The Hindi spy comedy generated mixed early reactions: audiences praised performances, concept and moments of humour, but criticised the dated writing and uneven execution. The film opened decently at the box office; its ultimate success will hinge on word of mouth.
