Amazon cut about 250 jobs in its devices and services unit, mostly in software development, weeks after launching new products including Kindle e-readers and Alexa-enabled devices. The company said the reductions aim to operate more efficiently and align with its product roadmap; affected workers were notified by text and email ahead of Amazon's third-quarter results announcement.
