China and Djibouti said all countries should enjoy freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait, according to a joint statement after their foreign ministers met in Beijing. They expressed concern over deteriorating security, urged respect for littoral states' sovereignty, and called on outside powers to avoid force or unilateral sanctions that raise regional risks.
