Millions of blue tiger and dark blue tiger butterflies (Tirumala limniace) undertake annual migrations from the Eastern Ghats to the Western Ghats with the North-East monsoon. Observers in Tamil Nadu and Kerala report dense swarms near Coimbatore, B R Hills and Visakhapatnam. The butterflies reach forest host plants to feed, mate, lay eggs, and complete their lifecycle across seasons.
