OCIA and the ancient baptismal catechumenate require more than classroom instruction to form lasting Catholic faith. Effective formation combines strong relational mentorship, internalized belief, and habitual practices, prayer, liturgy and community, progressing incrementally through staged rites. When fully implemented, this communal, doctrinal, and sacramental process fosters genuine conversion and sustained lifelong practice.
